Following the commissioning of a Class 8 cleanroom at its Königsbach-Stein facility in 2021, the Frey & Winkler Group is expanding its cleanroom production capacity with the successful validation of an all new Class 7 cleanroom at its Timisoara location, thereby laying the groundwork for the manufacturing of highly sensitive injection-molded components under even stricter cleanliness conditions.
The investment in the cleanroom, along with a new ENGEL e-mac 220 injection molding machine, highlights the Frey & Winkler Group’s commitment to offering its customers innovative manufacturing technologies at the highest quality level. Controlled production environments are a critical success factor, particularly for applications in medical technology, diagnostics, pharmaceutical packaging and other regulated industries. The new cleanroom enables the production of sophisticated components providing maximum process reliability.

The new cleanroom is integrated into the existing manufacturing process and enables end-to-end production - from injection molding through assembly and quality inspection to customer-specific packaging. State-of-the-art automation technology and validated processes ensure consistent quality and cost-effective mass production.
With this expansion, the Frey & Winkler Group is further expanding its expertise as a manufacturer of precision components made from liquid silicone rubber (LSR), thermoplastics, and multi-component solutions. The company supports its customers from Design for Manufacturing (DFM) through tooling to fully automated series production, meeting the highest standards for quality, precision, purity, and process reliability in accordance with DIN ISO 13485.
The completion of the cleanroom marks the next major milestone in the company’s growth strategy after the integration of Promolding BV in 2025 and underscores Frey & Winkler’s long-term commitment to innovation, quality, and sustainable growth.
