With the opening of the new clean room area at the Königsbach-Stein site, F&W is setting an important milestone for the production of hygiene-sensitive silicone components. After almost a year of intensive planning, construction of the new ISO Class 8 cleanroom area started in spring 2021. The cleanroom area covers a total area of approx. 300 sqm and offers maximum manufacturing flexibility. Compared to the existing cleanrooms, the new cleanroom can cover the entire process chain from silicone injection moulding to post curing and customised packaging. In the future, this will eliminate the extremely time-consuming and costly process of transferring components into and out of subsequent cleanroom areas, which will greatly streamline logistical processes. Permanent monitoring and recording of the cleanroom quality ensures the ambitious quality standards of the silicone components. F&W is thus expanding its portfolio of products and services in an attractive growth area and can thus support its customers even better in their value creation.
